Way-finding is a crucial element of urban design, ensuring that pedestrians can easily navigate through public spaces. Our recent project with Urban Spark Studio and the Wyndham City, we had the opportunity to contribute to the way-finding strategy for Tarneit, a growing suburb in Melbourne's west.
As part of this project, our team designed and installed vibrant and eye-catching pavement murals at 5 different sites, including 25-meter-long murals, plantar boxes, and bench seats. These murals serve as visual cues, guiding pedestrians along a designated path while adding a touch of creativity and playfulness to the urban environment.
The goal of the project was to create a visually stunning and functional way-finding system that enhances the navigation experience for pedestrians in Tarneit. The murals not only provide clear directional cues but also add a unique and memorable element to the streetscape, making the journey more enjoyable for pedestrians of all ages.
Working in collaboration with Urban Spark Studio and the City of Wyndham, we were able to successfully implement this way-finding strategy and contribute to the overall urban design of Tarneit. It was a fulfilling project that combined art, functionality, and community engagement, resulting in a vibrant and engaging streetscape that promotes walkability and enhances the overall experience for pedestrians.
