MAMAM represented artists, Juzpop and JESWRI, recently featured in a documentary exploring Melbourne as the ‘Capital of Art’. The documentary was made by Melbourne University student, Linwei Wu, as part of her Master of Arts and Cultural Engagement.
The film explores Melbourne’s plethora of street art that saturates the walls of buildings and alleyways across the city. It explores concepts such as: street art’s contribution to creating a multicultural society, the limitations of government subsidies and funding for artists, the effect of public policy on art, and how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted mural artists and the art they create.
Linwei conducted personal interviews with Juzpop and JESWRI to unpack the meaning behind some of their most inspired pieces. The exact time stamps for the beginning of these interviews are at 6:50 and 8:00, respectively. You can view the full documentary below.
